What to do ...

This area of Norfolk offers so much:-

accomodation in Norfolk

For adults:
There are so many wonderful restaurants and pubs, from the up-market Morston Hall (owned by Galton Blackiston) to the extremely popular White Horse at Brancaster Staithe. The Wiveton Bell near Cley is a favourite and very nearby.  Details and phone numbers are left in the cottage.

There is a superb Farm Shop and café only a few miles from the Cottage so it is possible to collect a wonderful supper en route to the village.  Holt is excellent for all food shopping from supermarkets to the Deli at Byfords. Byfords sell excellent ready made meals and their bread is great. Holt’s shops offer all a dedicated shopper could want.

Golfers will enjoy courses at West Runton, Sheringham and Fakenham and horse-racing takes place in Fakenham between October and May.  Sea fishing trips are available from Wells-next-the-Sea, sea fishing is also popular along the beaches at Salthouses and Cley. There are local
lakes including Gunthorpe Hall at Melton Constable and Blickling Lake.

accommodation in East Anglia

For children:

Firstly the village field, then the beaches at Sheringham, Cromer, Wells, Hunstanton, Holkham (outstandingly beautiful) and Brancaster.  Hunstanton also has the Sea Life Sanctuary as an attraction and there is the Hilltop Outdoor Centre near Sheringham, Playland at Wells and Extreeme Adventure at Swaffham.

There are trains on the North Norfolk Railway from Sheringham to Holt and the Wells and  Walsingham Light Railway.

The Muckleburgh Collection is a great day out, as is Thursford
(especially later in the year when they have a truly fabulous Christmas Spectacular.)

A must for children of all ages is the boat trip from Morston Quay to see the seals, sometimes dozens of them, guaranteed to bring a smile to any face.

North Norfolk coast

For walkers and birdwatchers:
There are so many marshes along this coast which bring twitchers in their numbers.  And the coastal walk is a real treat, especially as the Coastal Hopper bus runs at regular intervals allowing a one-way walk.

Historic sights:
Holkham Hall, Felbrigg and Blickling are all ideal day trips away, as is Sandringham which hosts various events throughout the year.

This whole area is such a treat at all times of the year.

We leave lists of pubs, restaurants, shops and details of the various outings in the Cottage, but if you need more ideas visit www.visitnorfolk.co.uk.
